Marie Matsuura is a Paris-based furniture and object designer.
Her practice is grounded in a dialogue between industrial editions and hands-on collaborations with makers. After six years at Habitat’s in-house design studio, she now works as a freelance designer, currently on bespoke furniture for Chanel Mode, alongside more personal projects with craftspeople (Compagnon du Devoir, ceramicist).
Trained between France and Japan (Studio Mikiya Kobayashi), she pays particular attention to detail and material.
Shortlisted for the Manufacto prize (Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, 2024) and winner of the 1st Prize at the Sessùn Craft Prize 2026.
